2021 LBSA Alumni Fund Scholarship
The LBSA alumni established the LBSA Fund Scholarship to support students of Hispanic/Latino heritage and those committed to uplifting underserved communities in their pursuit of professional skills and careers. All scholarships are funded entirely by alumni contributions and represent the alumni’s commitment to LBSA’s vision – to be recognized as the premier business organization at UC Berkeley that successfully transitions its members into Corporate America and into the Walter A. Haas School of Business.
A committee of LBSA alumni will review applications and select the scholarship recipients. For the LBSA & Community Scholarship, the committee will award at least one “Soledad Voss Scholarship” of $2,000, and at least three $1,000 scholarships. Last year we awarded 15 scholarships totaling $19,000. The LBSA & Community Scholarship awards are distributed mid-August.
The Soledad Voss Scholarship, created in 2013, is named after one of our UC Berkeley LBSA founding members who tragically passed away in an accident. Soledad “Sole” was a special person with a rare energy and spirit that lit up any room she walked into, including our LBSA events. It is in this spirit that we celebrate her life and dedicate this scholarship in her name.
